On the occasion of the African Ports Forum 2023 held on May 25 and 26 in Abidjan (organized by One Africa Forums ), Dr. Mike Oquaye jnr., CEO, Ghana Free Zones Authority has said that:
“Regional integration has emerged as a vital strategy for promoting economic growth, stability, and development among nations. In Africa, the pursuit of regional integration has gained significant momentum, in the light of the implementation of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, with an emphasis on the establishment of special economic zones and the optimization of synergies with the ports. These initiatives aim to foster economic diversification, enhance trade facilitation, attract foreign direct investment, and propel the continent towards sustainable development”.
